Microsoft’s Cortona Tested for Outlook on iOS and Android
– a press release
“Microsoft is reportedly testing an update to Cortana that would directly interact with the Outlook mobile application on both iOS and Android.”
For Immediate Release – March 06, 2018
Muncie, Ind. – According to reports from The Verge, Microsoft’s smart assistant, Cortona, could soon be coming to Outlook. While Cortana is already available as a standalone app on iOS and Android, Microsoft has been hesitant to integrate the virtual assistant into Outlook and other mail clients.
Microsoft is reportedly testing an update to Cortana that would directly interact with the Outlook mobile application on both iOS and Android devices. In a move from traditional focus, this update is rumored to include the popular email client on both iOS and Android devices with identical functionality. Anticipated features include the ability to have mail read aloud or drafted by audio commands, a convenience for those that require hands-free communication.
According to The Verge, the project is still awaiting feedback and has not yet been scheduled for beta adoption or public release.
