Foxconn Plans to Acquire Belkin
– a press release
“Foxconn, a Taiwanese company and behind-the-scenes manufacturing partner of iPhones, plans to acquire Belkin.”
For Immediate Release – March 27, 2018
Muncie, Ind. – Foxconn, a Taiwanese company and behind-the-scenes manufacturing partner of iPhones, plans to acquire Belkin. Belkin, which also owns the brands Linksys and Wemo, accounts for a significant number of consumer electronics within the US and worldwide — with Linksys alone touting in excess of 100 million router sales across the globe.
A California-based company for the past 35 years, Belkin has secured its place as a household name in electronics. Boasting a product line that includes computers, peripherals, phone accessories, and seemingly everything in between, Belkin has a long-standing reputation in technology.
If the deal is completed, Foxconn has pledged to uphold this American legacy with plans to build a $10 billion factory in Wisconsin. Continuing, Foxconn has pledged ongoing support for the existing Belkin product line.
