Microsoft Announces Edge for iOS and Android
– a press release
“Microsoft announced last week that it had created iOS and Android versions of its Edge browser…”
For Immediate Release – October 10, 2017
Muncie, Ind. – Microsoft announced last week that it has created iOS and Android versions of its Edge browser, and will make both available to users for testing.
For Android or iOS users, you will soon be able to use Microsoft Edge mobile to push webpages to a PC and resume where you left off. This “continue on PC” functionality is at the center of Edge for iOS and Android, and mirrors Apple’s “Handoff” feature established in 2014.
In a recent blog post, Microsoft noted that, “One of the most common requests we hear from people who use Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 PCs is ‘we want our browser experience to move to our phones’. You spoke, we listened.”
Upon release, users can expect familiar features like Favorites, Reading List, New Tab Pages and other Edge options to seamlessly integrate from PC to mobile device. The mobile Edge application is currently closed to beta testers and is expected to hit the market by early 2018.
