Microsoft Partners with Spotify
– a press release
“Microsoft has officially partnered with Spotify.”
For Immediate Release – October 03, 2017
Muncie, Ind. – Microsoft has officially partnered with Spotify. Microsoft is the latest company to bow out of the music streaming business. Groove Music, Microsoft’s music streaming platform is set to retire at the end of this year.
Microsoft is partnering with Spotify to make it easy for Groove Music subscribers to move their playlists over to the former competitor. An update to the Groove Music app will be available for Windows 10 users next week, and Windows Insiders will get early access this week.
In a recent blog post, Microsoft noted that, “As we continue to listen to what our customers want in their music experience we know that access to the best streaming service, the largest catalog of music, and a variety of subscriptions is top of the list.” A new partnership with Spotify is targeted to fill this gap.
