Select Windows 10 PCs to Feature Amazon Alexa

Muncie, Ind. – Last year, Microsoft and Amazon announced that their respective smart assistants, Cortana and Alexa would soon be able to “talk” to one other via Windows 10. This week, several Windows 10 PC manufacturers have announced their own partnerships with Amazon to integrate Alexa into Windows 10 devices as a separate initiative.
So far, Acer, Asus, and HP have all announced PCs that aim to hit the market later this year showcasing Alexa integration. This week marks the kickoff to the annual Consumer Electronics Show, which means that other manufacturers are likely to follow suit.
These devices will reportedly use a new Alexa Windows 10 app which is currently under development. The new app will mimic the functionality of the various Amazon Echo devices, allowing users to ask Alexa questions. Extended functionality, such as music playback and direct calls will not be available upon launch and is planned to release in phase two of development.
